The SilverSkate Festival is almost here! It runs February 7-17, 2025 with many fun things to do. They have changed up their offerings and the schedule is already up! This year the festival is located at Laurier Park, with a new ice rink operating west of the public washrooms. Check in regularly at https://silverskate.ca/ to see what they have to offer, and be sure to get out to enjoy the fabulous creativity, friendliness and culture in the cold air. Snow sculptures, fire sculptures, Indigenous storytelling, and lots of skating are among the fun activities to take in.

The Flying Canoe Volant Festival is on next weekend! It runs January 29 to Feb 1, 2025 – visit www.LaCiteFranco.ca/en/flying-cano%C3%AB-volant for more information. From the website: The Flying Canoë Volant is a creative, interactive, and cultural event that celebrates local history and everything that is great about a long winter's night. Loosely based on the legend of the Flying Canoe, and on French-Canadian, First Nation, and Métis traditions, the Flying Canoë Volant invites you for a nighttime adventure in Edmonton's French Quarter and along the illuminated trails of the Mill Creek Ravine.
