Session 6: Caregiving – Caregivers provide a variety of support and assistance to people who need help with aspects of daily living.  In this session we explore the realities of caregiving for a loved one living with mental illness. In this session’s video you will meet Lee and Sage. Sage experienced psychosis—a temporary loss of contact with reality due to hallucinations or delusions—in the midst of a medical crisis. Lee, her husband, speaks about the role of caregiving and his own wellbeing alongside the difficulties of Sage’s illness.

The Sanctuary Course is an 8-week course that gives participants a chance to broaden their understanding of mental health from a Christian perspective. Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries is a Christian non-profit organization that was founded in 2012 for the purpose of equipping churches in Canada to love and support community members with lived experience of mental health challenges. Please take a look at their website HERE for a brief introduction to the program.
