In the TEDx Talk “Decolonization is for Everyone”, Nikki Sanchez speaks to the historical amnesia necessary for colonization to occur. She asks “what territory and nation was your grandmother born on?” From here, she speaks to our education as settler-descendants of the historical amnesia we are encouraged to embrace. Her approach allows us to consider our own family and cultural histories, and how we might reconsider them in light of desiring reconciliation on this land.
