Good day St. Paul's,

To comply with provincial restrictions, we will continue to physically distance for Sunday services. Please maintain a one pew buffer between yourself and other parishioners and, if in the same row, please keep at least 2 metres from those from other households. Passing the peace will once again be done as visually passing of the peace from your seats. Masking will also continue and masks continue to be available for those without one.

Our 10AM Sunday service will also continue to be available online as a live-stream and Sunday's bulletin is attached here. To find our live-stream service, please visit our website and visit the Events tab and click on the “St. Paul’s Sunday Service” event to find links to our YouTube Channel.

As always, please read on for more announcements.

Sincerely,
RJ Chambers
Office Administrator, St. Paul's Anglican Church - Edmonton

Community Corner for Sunday, October 17

  • Messy Church is a form of church that is intergenerational and involves creativity, celebration, and hospitality. We are exploring this as an addition to our Sunday Services and would love your participation and input in this. Please visit https://messychurch.ca/. For more information, please talk to Michelle.
  • Save the date! We will be doing our Annual Gingerbread Night on November 26. At this point we are planning it as a Zoom event.
  • The book study in October of “21 Things You Might Not Know About the Indian Act” is going well! If you are still interested in getting a copy and join a study, please contact Michelle. She has copies available and would love to talk with you if you are curious. If there is a different Indigenous book you would like to suggest for November, she is interested in your recommendations. “An Inconvenient Indian” by Thomas King is currently being considered.

The Secret Path Showing on Sunday, October 17
Please plan to join us for a screening of the movie “The Secret Path” this Sunday after church October 17. This movie acknowledges a dark part of Canada’s history with the hope of starting our country on a road to reconciliation. It features Gord Downie’s music and the graphic novel by Jeff Lemire, telling the story of Chanie Wenjack, a twelve year-old boy who died in 1966 after running away from Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School to return to his family over 400 miles away. You can also watch the movie at https://secretpath.ca/#Home. We will watch it a little while after the service ends so you can visit with other parishioners and eat (please bring a snack or bag lunch) before we start.
