As BLACK HISTORY MONTH comes to a close, one more resource you will want to check out is Black History Month Resource List on the Royal Alberta Museum Blog. This list includes links to Black Albertans you should know, CBC’s Being Black on the Prairies, the story of Canada’s first Black broadcaster and more. Please visit royalalbertamuseum.ca/blog/black-history-alberta.
We often hear about citizen rights in popular media, but are you familiar with your responsibilities as a Canadian Citizen? These include obeying the law, voting in each election (municipal, provincial and federal), participating in jury duty (if selected), being responsible for oneself and one’s family, helping others in the community, and protecting and enjoying our heritage and environment. Visit https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/discover-canada/read-online/rights-resonsibilities-citizenship.html to learn more.
Please let us know: WHERE DO YOU VOLUNTEER? We are hoping to have a complete list of all the ways parishioners help outside the church, and your input is needed. If you volunteer at a theatre, with a choir, at a hospital, in the inner city or in some other capacity,
YOUR VOLUNTEERISM IS VERY VALUABLE. Please add your name to our list at the side entrance to the church or by email to Michelle S. Include your name, where you volunteer, and what you do. THANK YOU!
