As BLACK HISTORY MONTH comes to a close, one more resource you will want to check out is Black History Month Resource List on the Royal Alberta Museum Blog. This list includes links to Black Albertans you should know, CBC’s Being Black on the Prairies, the story of Canada’s first Black broadcaster and more. We often hear about citizen rights in popular media, but are you familiar with your responsibilities as a Canadian Citizen? These include obeying the law, voting in each election (municipal, provincial and federal), participating in jury duty (if selected), being responsible for oneself and one’s family, helping others in the community, and protecting and enjoying our heritage and environment. To learn more, search up “Responsibilities of Canadian Citizens” in your search engine.
