June is National Pride Month. There are many different ways to observe this month, and it can foster a lot of reflection and discussion. Phillip Yancey has a Q&A article on his website that expresses his way of engaging Pride and the community it serves. Another source to consider is the book “Does Jesus Really Love Me?” by Jeff Chu:
“How is it that people who purportedly follow the same God and the same Scriptures have come to hold such a wide range of opinions on LGBTQ rights? Jeff Chu, a journalist and a believer, completed a cross country quest to find an answer to his question, "Does Jesus really love me?" Surveying the breadth of the political and theological spectrum, from the most conservative viewpoints to the most liberal, he tries to distill what diverse followers of Christ believe about homosexuality. His findings are written in his book, "Does Jesus Really Love Me?" The book does not try to sway the reader one way or another, simply to explore the diverse viewpoints. It's worth a read to understand the culture we live in and our decisions on the issues.” (Thanks to Rosalie for the suggestion!)
