We are pleased to announce that Jan Tworek from the SAGE Seniors Association will be hosting another Seniors Coffee Time on Wednesday, October 23 from 1:30-3:00pm. She’s a great resource for all things “senior” in our area, and it will be great to learn more from her. We are advertising in Grovenor and surrounding areas, as well as through a number of other agencies, and look forward to meeting new people. It’s an open event, so please bring your friends!

The next FREE Community Dinner at St Paul's is happening Saturday, October 26. Doors open at 4:30 and dinner is served at 5:00. Please come and enjoy a delicious meal and good conversation with other guests. We already have a good team of volunteers, so if you’ve been thinking about coming to help, this is a great opportunity to work with experienced people. If you’d like to volunteer, there’s a paper sign up sheet at the side entrance to the church, or you can go to www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4CABAF28A5FCC70-52156618-october to sign up online. Either way, please come for dinner and bring your friends!

Are you familiar with the Cooperative Memorial Society? This is an Alberta-based non-profit that seeks to give members assistance in planning simple, dignified and cost effective funerals. This society has negotiated with locally-owned funeral homes across Alberta to secure reduced rates for essential services. Michelle Schurek will be hosting a small presentation at St Paul’s at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16 about this group and what they offer. Please email her to let her know you’re coming, or with any questions you have. You can also visit the CMS website at www.coopmemorial.org/memorial-societies--funeral-co-ops.html.
